WINTER SUCKS!

Winter SUCKS most of the time, but not this year. At least not here in the Carolinas. Man, 60+ degree weather every day. In January?! Are you kidding me???!!! This is great! I don’t know what kind of weather you are experiencing, but it has been very un-winter like around here. We went to a “Polar Bear” ride the other day and folks rode up with tees and shorts. Too funny!!!

Winter may not SUCK around here this year, but there is still one thing that does… SATAN! Our buddy Richard Headrick and Hellfighters M/M have t-shirts that say, SATAN SUCKS on the front, but JESUS SAVES on the back. Our folks love them around here. I love wearing mine around town. Talk about getting attending. Folks can’t help but to notice them. Some love it, some don’t. The message from the shirt is based on John 10:10, “The thief (Satan) comes to steal, kill, and destroy: But I (Jesus) come to give you life. Not just any life, but LIFE more abundantly.”

While you are sitting around this winter either pouting about the cold, or enjoying the warm temps like around here, don’t let the devil SUCK your life away. Remember, Jesus came to give us eternal life, and there is an abundance of it. (JOHN 3:16)

MERRY CHRISTMAS!

Where has the year gone??? Out with the Summer Time Blues and in with the ghost, goblins, and giblet gravy… Followed by, “The Most Wonderful Time Of The Year.” Like it or not it’s Christmas time. And for me, it is the most wonderful time of the year. Come on now, don’t you just love the way all the houses are lit up, and the smell of scented pine combs in the stores along with the sweet sound of the holidays playing over the sound system? Man, I love it. It’s Christmas!!! Yea!

Well, in case you are experiencing some Christmas Time Blues here’s a little story to cheer you up.

The Birth of Jesus (Luke 2:1-20)

1 In those days Caesar Augustus issued a decree that a census should be taken of the entire Roman world. 2 (This was the first census that took place while[a] Quirinius was governor of Syria.) 3 And everyone went to their own town to register. 4 So Joseph also went up from the town of Nazareth in Galilee to Judea, to Bethlehem the town of David, because he belonged to the house and line of David. 5 He went there to register with Mary, who was pledged to be married to him and was expecting a child. 6 While they were there, the time came for the baby to be born, 7 and she gave birth to her firstborn, a son. She wrapped him in cloths and placed him in a manger, because there was no guest room available for them. 8 And there were shepherds living out in the fields nearby, keeping watch over their flocks at night. 9 An angel of the Lord appeared to them, and the glory of the Lord shone around them, and they were terrified. 10 But the angel said to them, “Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. 11 Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. 12 This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.” 13 Suddenly a great company of the heavenly host appeared with the angel, praising God and saying, 14 “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and on earth peace to those on whom his favor rests.” 15 When the angels had left them and gone into heaven, the shepherds said to one another, “Let’s go to Bethlehem and see this thing that has happened, which the Lord has told us about.” 16 So they hurried off and found Mary and Joseph, and the baby, who was lying in the manger. 17 When they had seen him, they spread the word concerning what had been told them about this child, 18 and all who heard it were amazed at what the shepherds said to them. 19 But Mary treasured up all these things and pondered them in her heart. 20 The shepherds returned, glorifying and praising God for all the things they had heard and seen, which were just as they had been told.

There’s nothing that will relieve the summertime blues like a cool crisp evening ride on the ol’ scoot.

SUMMERTIME BLUES!

There’s nothing that will relieve the summertime blues like a cool crisp evening ride on the ol’ scoot. Geezer (Our bikes official name) loves it when we head out on those late evening summertime rides, just tooling around the countryside looking at the sun slowly settling down behind the tree lines. Well, this summer, around here anyway, there’s not been a lot of tooling the country side on a crisp cool evening day watching the sun go down. It’s been too stinkin’ HOT!!! Dude, 100’s for more days than I care to remember. And not just hot here, it’s hot everywhere it seems like.

To relieve our summertime blues Charlene and I, along with a few friends headed north up the east coast with our sights set on the world famous Cabot Trail on Cape Breton Island in Nova Scotia. After a week of seeing some of the most beautiful scenery, eating some Maine lobsters, and enjoying our friends company we arrived at the tip of N.S. and our destination. Man, was it incredible! Mountains on one side, the Atlantic coast line on the other. When we reached the northern tip of the trail we stopped in at the Chowder House for an unforgettable bowl of Clam Chowder. Just what the belly needed as the weather had turned a bit chilly. What a trip, and what a great time with good friends as we were blessed with a safe ride, and a good tan.

Well, so far during this scorching summer we’ve seen some beautiful scenery, ate some awesome food, and met some of the nicest folk along our journeys. And the good thing is summer is only half over… Yea!!! So as you head out looking for that cool crisp late evening ride, remember these simple keys to overcoming your Summertime Blues.

B – Believe in Christ. HE is the real deal… (Romans 10:9)

L – Live your life for HIS glory… (Galatians 2:20)

U – Use your abilities/gifts/talents for HIM… (Ephesians 2:10)

E – Enjoy the ride HE has for you… (John 10:10)

S – Share with someone what HE has both given you, and done for you… (Mark 5:19-20)
