Road Ramblings
P-STOP!!!
Yep, it’s that time… If you’re like me, there was a time when how far you rode depended on the size of your gas tank. Now, it depends on the size of your bladder. And for some reason, the stops come quicker. Well, while the kickstand is down let me just ramble a bit with you about what’s happening out on the open road with Freedom Biker Church.
We’re in the process of adding content to our NETWORK website. So HOLD ON!!! It’s coming. We’ll have pictures from the different Freedom Biker Churches, more videos, a new website for our Mississippi, Asheville, and the other soon to be coming churches, and hopefully our NETWORK NEWSLETTER will soon be out on the Open Road. We’ve been so swamped around here that we just haven’t gotten to it. But it’s coming. SOON!!! Isn’t God good?
While I’m parked for a minute, my P-STOP reminds me of another “P” moment in my life. Yea, I know, while out on the open road anything can come to your mind. In 1990 I had a major “P” moment in my life. It involved Putting off some things, and Putting on some new stuff.
Paul tells us in Romans 13:12-14 that, “The night is nearly over; the day is almost here. So let us PUT OFF (Put aside) the deeds of darkness and PUT ON the armor of light. Let us behave decently, as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness, not in sexual immorality and debauchery, not in dissension and jealousy. Rather, PUT ON (Clothe yourselves with) the Lord Jesus Christ, and do not think about how to gratify the desires of the sinful nature.”
Someone once told me,
“Be what you is, and not what you ain’t, because if you ain’t what you is, then you’ll be what you ain’t.”
Profound I know, but the truth is, if we are a child of God then we have to be what we are. The ONLY way that is possible day in and day out is to Put-off the old, and Put-on Jesus (the new). Stay clothed in HIM. Hey, is it time for a P-STOP in your life?
Until the next stop,
Preacher Mike
Road Ramblings
Finally, a place to pull over and plant the kickstand for a few. What a ride it’s been since we last chatted. All I know is that the Ol’ Geezer Glide needs a bath because spring is in the air, and the events are rolling out. I can’t come rolling up on a dirty bike. Only thing is, it doesn’t matter how much I wash her there’s always a spot or two somewhere on it I seemed to have missed. A bug here, some dirt there. Like I tell folks, I didn’t buy this scoot to wash; I bought it to ride… Bike Bright, the BOMB, or whatever, man there’s all kinds of cleaning stuff out there. But no matter what I use, there is always somewhere I missed. I’m glad when it comes to my life it’s not up to me to clean it up completely. I think we all want to do good in life to some degree, but truth is no one can do good enough to be perfectly clean. The only thing that can do the ultimate wash on an old ragged soul is the blood of Jesus.
If that animal blood and the other rituals of purification were effective in cleaning up certain matters of our religion and behavior, think how much more the blood of Christ cleans up our whole lives, inside and out. Through the Spirit, Christ offered himself as an unblemished sacrifice, freeing us from all those dead-end efforts to make ourselves respectable, so that we can live all out for God. Hebrews 9:13-14
As Easter approaches, think about where you are heading right now, and what your life looks like. What’s the highway looking like up ahead of you? It’s OK to pull over and think about the storm on the horizon. God, unlike anyone else, understands us. Give Him a chance today to do an ultimate cleaning on you.
THE FBC NETWORK is wide open. We just finished a 5 day trip to Mississippi getting our FBC Southaven MS. church ready to roll. They are kicking off the church Easter Sunday. That’s so cool. Our Hickory FBC had its Kick-Start March 27 at the Blue Ridge HD. Fayetteville had a great ride with over 180 bikes in it put on by the Ol’ Timers’ to raise money for a building in the Fayetteville area. Asheville is working on their building as they are getting ready to move into it. Monroe has moved into their new joint, and it’s the BOMB! God is rocking their world. Check out any one of our FBC churches and see what great things the LORD is doing in the motorcycle community. Watch for new locations coming this summer to the Greenville, SC. and Greensboro, NC areas. Plus, look for FBC to roll into the Great North this summer or fall… Canada that is.
Well, time to hit the road, so until next time

Road Ramblings
Thank you for joining me out on the open road. From time to time I’ll be pulling over and shooting you (a.k.a. Blogging for you PCer’s who may get upset with me talking about shooting someone) some info about how things are going out on life’s highway. I’m a preacher, and you know how we preachers like to ramble on and on. Well, sometimes we just can’t help ourselves. There’s just so much incredible stuff happening that I’ll bust like a cheap wore out tire if I don’t share it with somebody. All I can say is WOW!!!! What a journey so far, and you don’t want to miss it. So check in from time to time and I’ll be rambling on from the open road about what God is doing all across the country in the motorcycle community.
A little over three years ago God put us on the road to reaching out to bikers around the world with the message of real FREEDOM (John 8:36). By no means is this a new message, but one that has been tried, and found to be true. You know as well as I do that there is no greater joy than heading down that long stretch of highway with the wind in your face, the problems of life in your mirror, and the setting sun as your destination. The open road! There’s nothing like it. Well, let me tell you that there is also nothing that compares to the peace that passes all understanding, and keeps our hearts and minds as when we’re in a real relationship with GOD. I personally have enjoyed the peace of God and His freedom for some time. And there’s nothing like it. Real FREEDOM! And brother, when you put the two together, riding for freedom (the open road), and living with real freedom (a personal relationship with Jesus Christ), it’s off the hook… Paul says in Romans 11:32-36 (NIV) 33Oh, the depth of the riches of the wisdom and knowledge of God! How unsearchable his judgments, and his paths beyond tracing out! 34″Who has known the mind of the Lord? Or who has been his counselor?” 35″Who has ever given to God, that God should repay him?” 36For from him and through him and to him are all things. To him be the glory forever! Amen.
Hey brothers and sisters, here’s your invitation to ride with us along this journey as we go from coast to coast, country to country, and around the world reaching out to motorcyclists from all walks of life who are searching for that one thing that will give them real security, real peace, real meaning in life, and real everlasting love. I’ll keep you filled in on every obstacle, road hazard, speed trap, and road conditions. While you’re riding remember to pray for the ministry of Freedom Biker Church as God continues to “Rock our World” with His plans. To Him indeed be all the glory forever! So saddle up, hop on, and hang on tight as we blaze a trail to Reach the World 2 Wheels at a time.
